Many things: Dry mouth conditions can be caused from a rainbow of issues. You could be taking a medication such as some high blood pressure meds or anti-depressants that can cause dry mouth. Biodentine is a very good over the counter product that can help with dry mouth symptoms. It comes in a gel, liquid, and toothpaste.

Likely viral: If you have a sore throat that is not strep than it is most likely viral which can be just as painful as strep. If it is viral you have to let it run its course. You can use meds like advil (ibuprofen) for the pain but will not speed up the healing process. Staying hydrated is the first priority and you may need to drink smoothies to get calories in.
