Can hydrocortizone 1% cream be applied for fading of non-itchy rash on leg which is pityriasis rosea herald patch, on skin for almost 2 months, ?

Doubtful: Hydrocortisone is helpful for itchy or inflamed rashes. We believe that pityriasis is caused by a virus and not inflammatory. I would expect a herald patch to be accompanied by others by now. You should consider that this might be another cause such as eczema or lupus. I would recommend an examination. ...Read more

I am experiencing dry skin, very itchy rash. On sides under boobs, back and inside of top of my legs. It gets worse in the winter. Red patchy circles?

Moisturizer: These are likely what is called winter rash due to dry skin. Try applying a moisturizer on your skin within 3 minutes after bathing (daily bathing is encouraged). Avoid scented or anti-bacterial soap. The red patchy circles however are not usually found in people with just dry skin. You may need to consult a dermatologist. ...Read more

My husband has developed really bad itchy rash all over his skin. It first started on the legs, spread to the sides of his groin n is spreading evrywhr?

Scabies?: Really bad itchy rash all over the body is common in a few conditions. If the intensity of itching is high with this distribution, I would suspect scabies. Chiggers is another condition that can start with the legs and then spread. Poison ivy also can start at the legs and could be very itchy. Any of these conditions could be responsible; he needs to be seen by his doctor to make a diagnosis. ...Read more

I have a dry flaky peeling itchy patch of skin on my vagina after I cut myself while shaving. Its been there for a while now. I have not had sex. What should I do?

Epidermis: Shaving can irritate the epidermis and cause it to hypertrophy (skin cells pile up instead of sloughing off like normal skin does). This can cause a dry patch. Use a topical cream such as aquaphor to decrease the dryness in that area. If that doesn't work, see your doctor as it may be caused by other problems. ...Read more

Why is my skin reacting (dry patches, itchy rash) to my insulin pump sites?

Adhesive reaction?: I would wonder if you are becoming sensitive to the adhesive used at the site. It is unlikely to be a reaction to the insulin. Also, make sure there is no latex in your supplies.
