I'm 4 months pregnant and I have peeling burning skin around the creases of my nose, and dry itchy flakey skin. Is this normal? And why?
Yes: It's normal to experience these types of dry skin changes in pregnancy. Drink lots of lots of water, that may help. You may want to try a moisturizer on your face if you haven't already. Why, is because your metabolism is on super drive providing energy and nutrition for the developing baby. ...Read more
I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp & ears. I've also been having issues with dry, flaky, peeling, itchy, irritated, sometimes red and burning skin in butt crack.
Seb derm areas: Seborrheic dermatitis can affect the scalp, face, chest, back, underarms, groin and lower abdomen, and the fold between the buttocks. Psoriasis can do the same thing. In mild cases of both treatments are similar. Care must be taken not to use steroid creams in body folds for prolonged periods of time as they can thin the skin and cause other damage. ...Read more

14weeks pregnant. No infections or diseases. Itchy burning skin all over body. Gets even worse at night. What can be causing this?
Skin changes: I am not sure what is causing this. The hormones of pregnancy can cause skin changes that can make your skin oily or dry, which can cause sensitive skin and be uncomfortable. There are some other things that could cause itching later in pregnancy, but at this gestational age, I suspect it is just the skin adjusting to the new hormones in your body. ...Read more

Also be sure to give timeline as to when rash started relative to any of above, eg new bottle of medications, perhaps due to switch in generic manufacturers. ...Read more
Can you have a yeast infection without much discharge (instead - red, irritated, burning skin on the vulva, little itchiness)?
Typical symptoms!: Contrary to what you seem to think (or what you have been told), increased discharge is not one of the main symptoms of yeast. Your own symptoms are exactly what I teach medical students to look for and patients to be aware of. See a doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Or you can try an over the counter yeast medication -- then see the doc if symptoms don't clear up in a few days. Good luck! ...Read more
