Will Pilocarpine help with dry eyes from Sjogrens? Overnight dry eyes is my worst symptom even with plugs & eye drops.

Dry eyes n blepharitis. Seen 2 eye doc. Always give FML, (fluorometholone) lubricants. Sick of frequent eye inflammation, use eye drops daily n clean eyelid. Any cure?
The short answer is: yes, you can treat the blepharitis with a variety of treatments. The American Academy of Ophthalmology advises a variety of treatments depending upon the etiology (cause) of your blepharitis. This can range from eyelid hygiene with OTC lid scrubs or baby shampoo, to topical and even oral antibiotic treatment. Have your ophthalmologist look at the margins to identify the cause. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Dear eye experts/ ophthalmologist:for evaporate dry eye, i can't do warm eye compress. Would washing and massaging eyes 5 min in shower be equivalent?
Maybe: The warm compresses may be used in the shower. I feel that it is the abrasive action of the washcloth combined with the detergent action of the baby shampoo that improves the blepharitis. Try this out and see. For the evaporativ dry eye, use a good artificial tear for lubrication. Keeping the blepharitis under control will help the dry eye. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
After 30 min of flying, I get dry, bloodshot eyes. Don't wear contact lenses on flight. I use refresh dry eye drops but the redness stays. Any ideas?
Dry air: Most airline cabins are pressurized to feel as if they're about 8000 feet in altitude. As such, the air is very, very dry. Keep using your drops, and consider closing your eyes (maybe using a sleep mask) and sleeping while you listen to some music. There is a moistening ointment, I believe, which might last longer than the drops while you're flying. ...Read more

Dry eye: Your description sounds like dry eye. Initial treatment is frequent artificial tears during the day, ointment at night, warm compresses a few times a day, and omega-3 fatty acid supplements. If persistent contact lens intolerance persists, i will typically place bilateral lower lid plus and/or start restasis. If no improvement, you should see an eye doctor for further evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Serum tears: There are many otc and rx drops that work best for different sources of dry eye (as mentioned in the other answers). One of the best, though, is for severe dry eyes to make tears from your own serum. Blood is drawn, allowed to clot, centrifuged, diluted with saline, and given back to the patient. In cases that do not respond to the available treatments, this option should be discussed with md. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Dry Eye: It usually is not a good idea to self diagnosis. If you have dry eyes then that should be treated either with tears or punctual plugs or what your eye dr feels is best. He can measure the amount of dryness and treat accordingly. Contacts hard or soft are not really the problem and hard contacts can produce other issues. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Ideveloped dry eyes (only left eye)with use of laptop.doc told me to blink eye more often&prescribed alernil-o,ofolacin-dx aqualube drops. Is it cured?
Likely not a cure: Most dryness is chronic but the use of lubricating drops will take care of the symptoms and any possible damage. If the problem is simply dryness, you do not need that combination drop which includes an antibiotic. Over the counter lubricating drops should do fine. Do not use drops that say "gets the red out" as these are drying. ...Read more
