Do olanzipine and cbd oil have a drug interaction?

Maybe: Both can cause hepatic (liver) impairment. So when combined, may make drug levels of each worse. There is not a lot of info yet on drug interactions for cannabidiol oil. So ask your psychiatrist before using it, or any other medication or supplement, including over the counter meds. See http://www. Medicinalgenomics. Hi doctor, can I know the risks of grapefruit for drug interaction and death? I need a detailed answer plz ❤️

Hi doctor, can I know the risks of grapefruit for drug interaction and death? I need a detailed answer plz ❤️

Dangerous increases: Grapefruit drug interactions are very common. In the past few years the number of drugs that can lead to fatal interactions with grapefruit has more than doubled. Not only grapefruit but other fruits (limes, pomelos, other citrus fruits) contain a class of chemicals that block the normal rate of breakdown of drugs leading to toxic levels. The chemicals are “furanocoumarins” and they block an enzyme that breaks down drugs in the gut, limiting the amount absorbed, and the activity of this enzyme is taken into account when dosing these medications. When inactivated by the furanocoumarims, it is not possible to predict what doses are required to produce a therapeutic effect. Nor is it possible to time the consumption of the fruit to prevent this adverse effect. For example, grapefruit juice taken as long as 7-8 hours before a medication can still block the breakdown of the medication. Some reactions that can occur as a result are fatal abnormalities of rhythm leading to sudden cardiac death, muscle destruction (rhabdomyolysis) leading to damage to the kidneys and liver. The impact of grapefruit on drug levels is limited to drugs taken orally as the enzyme involved is a gut enzyme. Read more

What is the drug interaction between etoposide and vitamins?

What is the drug interaction between etoposide and vitamins?

There really is: Limited defined interactions between etoposide and vitamins. There is a hypothetical concern about antioxidants like Co Q10, vitamins A, C and E and selenium preventing cell damage and thus making certain anticancer agents less effective but there is limited formal data in this regards. If you take supplements with anticancer meds review this with your doc and avoid "mega" doses. Read more

Probably OK, but...: I doubt there is any serious potential for an adverse interaction. However, one of the problems with "natural" medicines, herbal products, and nutritional supplements, etc is that their exact contents often are unknown, And even when known, there is little research on interations with other drugs. So hard to be certain -- but probably no problem. Read more

Does a pharmacist contact the doctor if there is a possible drug interaction?

Usually: If there is an interaction we usually get informed and asked whether or not we still want to use that particular medication or make adjustments with another medication. For example, we stop statin drugs for cholesterol when we prescribe an antifungal pill while the patient is taking the antifungal pill. If not on rx, pharmacist will usually call or fax us for approval. Read more
