Drug addiction is a dangerous condition where people are addicted to, or dependent on, illicit or other harmful drugs or medications.

Be careful: I'm really urging you NOT to try to find out w/out his knowing. It can appear to put you in the wrong and perhaps still not give you a solid course of action anyway.
