Drospirenone Vs Levonorgestrel
Unlikely: Lo-ovral is a low dose birth control pill that has been around for a long time. It is a progestin dominant pill and like all pills in that category can be associated with some fluid retention, increased appetite and hair changes and lowers the good cholesterol. For the most part, it has been a well tolerated birth control pill choice. ...Read more
What are some of your side effects while on lo ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) vs ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel)?
Can be the same: Lo-ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) has 35 mcg estrogen, while ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) has 50 mcg estrogen, both have the same type of estrogen and progesterone. Anyone can have side effects with any type of bc pill, but I do not have any patients on ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) and only a few on lo-ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) as I use much lower dose pills in almost all of my patients. Almost all of mine are using a 25 or 20 or 10 mcg estrogen pill. ...Read more

Switched from desogen (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) to generic apri. Are there any differences?
Yes: Generic versions of medications are usually fine, but they are not identical. The fda allows for a modest degree of difference in "bioequivalence". Essentially, a generic medication is allowed to be sold if it is between 80% - 125% of the brand name medication. Most generic medications are fine for most people, but there is always some percentage of patients for whom they are different. ...Read more
Im on yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol), (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) today i started a course of 24 pills of antibiotic dalacin c capsule.Does it affect the reliability of yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol)?
IUD vs. yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) 28- which is more effective for pregnancy prevention and also for endometriosis?
Iud: both methods have been shown to be associated with relief of pain related to endometriosis, however the most effective method for birth control is the IUD, hands down.
