Could my UTI of 2 weeks not go away because I'm breastfeeding? My uti never last this long. Not taking any meds. Drinking plenty water & cranbr juice.
Maybe/not: We know now that cranberry juice does have chemical agents which interfere with the ability of e.coli to thrive in the bladder. We also know that not all burning during urination is due to a UTI. The fact is you may or may not have or have had a UTI and the symptoms may persist because you are not treating it. Proper evaluation & exclusion of this or other possibilities would be a wise choice. ...Read more

Ginger and Honey: Fresh ginger tea with honey is good for a cough. Moms who are breastfeeding can safely eat honey. But babies under the age of 1 should not be given honey, corn syrup, or even maple syrup directly because of the risk of botulism. Babies don't produce enough acid in their stomach to kill the bacteria that causes botulism. Moms do. Even if they eat contaminated honey, there is no risk to baby. ...Read more
Yes: Drinking herbal teas is ok for a breastfeeding mom. . . Remember that herbs are not strictly regulated, so there may be a little or a lot of herb in teabags of different brands. ...Read more
Depends: Honestly there are tons of slimming drinks out there. I wouldn't: The alcohol in any drink you take will pass in the breast milk. After it passes to baby, it will eventually break down to formaldehyde and other toxic byproducts. Although most infants with alcohol effect were exposed to high levels during pregnancy, there is no level of exposure that is proven save to the developing infant brain. Much of the ADD we see today is thought to result from such exposur ...Read more

If a woman has syphilis and she is breastfeeding a baby, can the baby get syphilis from sucking and drinking breastmilk?
I sometimes drink about 4-6 cups of chamomile tea a day, can that be bad for my health and that of my child who I am breastfeeding?
My baby is 12 days old and I've been breastfeeding. I only have given him the bottle 3 times and now he doesn't want to drink any milk from my breasts.
Breast feeding: Does he latch on and have a good suck? breastfeeding is hard work 4 a newborn. Sometimes babies get "lazy" after a bottle - the holes in the nipple of the bottle provide a faster fluid flow then your own milk ducts. I would keep at it - allowing him time to latch on. If he's hungry he will suck - worst case scenario - you have to pump your breasts into a bottle. Keep trying ...Read more

Better still is to see how many wet diapers she has in a day. If at least five then she is getting adequate fluids. ...Read more
