Drinking Lemon Water With Fish Oil Pills
Lately I seem to have difficulty swallowing larger pills (like fish oil). It feels like it gets stuck in my throat and drinking more water won't help.
Dysphagia: Dysphagia is distinguished as "transfer dysphagia" (problem moving food from mouth to top of esophagus) versus "transit dysphagia" (problem getting food down esophagus & into stomach). Motility disorders, strictures, ulceration (pill-associated, viral), tumors, etc must all be ruled out. ...Read more
Fish oils contain two active omega-3 fatty acids, dha and epa. Most fish oil products contain both dha and epa, but supplements enriched in dha or epa are available. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to significantly reduce sudden cardiac death. Some studies also indicate the potential for benefits in dementia and risk of heart attack. The omega-3 content of cold water ...Read more

I drink a teaspoon of a liquid fish oil supplement ever day. Will this dilute the eaffect of the fish oil in any way?
Fish oil: I'm not sure what you mean by "dilute" the effect if you drink the supplement? Fish oil can be taken as a liquid or in capsules. Some find the capsules more palatable. Make sure your teaspoon contains at least 1-2 grams of epa and 500mg of dha per day, to get the amount you need. Some conditions may require more. ...Read more

Better to drink flaxseed oil or fish oil for omega3? Is the omega3 that comes from fish the same quality as from vegetables? Which is digested better?
Eat fish for Omega 3: Our bodies don't convert omega 3's from flaxseed into the epa & dha readily available in fish (oil). There are some attempts to make epa & dha from seaweed & algae but otherwise, read label for epa & dha content. You won't see much from flaxseed products nor will you get much conversion either. Stop worrying: These numbers are fine. The homocysteine being minimally elevated is probably just you -- nobody's showed this puts you at real risk for anything. Trusting you're eating sensibly and not a non-supplementing vegan, and get B12 checked occasionally. Keep exercising. You can stop taking the fish oil -- the last several big studies show no benefit. ...Read more

Is 1 beer considered alcohol? Is drinking 1 beer (4% or 5%), with Zoloft & strattera (atomoxetine) & fish oil bad? Does 1 beer only affect my meds effectivity?
1 beer is alcohol: There are non-alcoholic beers but if your question is whether a beer containing alcohol is considered an alcoholic beverage then, the answer is yes. It is generally a rule of pharmacology that alcohol and medication should not be combined in the same body. The presence of alcohol can alter the way drugs are metabolized meaning they either make drugs less effective or more dangerous. ...Read more

You may have telogen effluvium, a condition where your hair falls out in clumps post-partum (after delivery of a child). If it is telogen effluvium, the hair will come back, as you are losing hairs that are in the telogen- or resting phase. Only time can treat telogen effluvium. Nevertheless, you should seek out a specialist for a proper evaluation- I would suggest a dermatologist.
