You can, but…: The Asian flush, as you term it, is caused by an enzyme which makes you metabolize alcohol into acetaldehyde. Since this is a genetic issue, Pepcid and Claritin (loratadine) will not help, although you can take them with alcohol in reasonable doses. 4 conditions come to mind:
a. drinking too much water from an obsessive urge leading to water intoxication.
b. Diabetes insipidus -the pituitary no longer secretes the hormone (ADH) to control the urinary flow.
(c)Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
(d)If you are taking a lot of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the hives it would lead to dryness in the mouth->thirst.

If you are drinking adequate water per day you should be rehydrated quickly. If you find that you still have heart palpitations then they may be due to another cause and you may want to add a little salt with the fluid- a handful of salted nuts, etc. Also you should be peeing several times per day- every 4 to 6 hours- that is another sign you have adequate hydration
