Alcohol is available in many beverages, from beer and wine to the more potent distilled spirits, such as gin, rye, and whiskey. There appear to be at least small health benefits of small amounts of alcohol use (fewer than five drinks per week), especially of red wine Excessive alcohol use can lead to addiction and severe social and physical complications. I'm on baby aspirin for blood thinners. I no longer take lovenox (enoxaparin). Can I drink alcohol?
Depends: Depending on which tests you're having and how much alcohol you drank, the results may be affected. This is especially true if you are having liver function tests done. Alcohol is also a diuretic and may lead to dehydration. This may impact other tests as well. Of course, if the test is for the presence of alcohol, you will likely be positive. ...Read more

Chronic alcohol use: ggt, liver function tests, vitamin b12, folic acid, thiamine levels can be affected. ...Read more
A study in 2005 showed that moderate Alcohol consumption interferes with the activation of platelets in the blood, preventing them from clumping together to cause clots in the arteries. This interference also slows the rate at which blood coagulates for beneficial reasons, such as in response to injuries, leading to a greater risk of hemorrhaging, especially during surgery.
One night I was drinking alcohol and the next morning I threw up I and I saw blood what could be the cause of that?
Couple possibliities: You may just have some gastritis, or even some peptic ulcer disease. But, if your emesis was violent, you may have torn the distal esophagus' inner lining, called a mallory-weiss tear. This will be self limited. If it continues, see your doctor, and take it easy on the etoh for awhile. Good luck. ...Read more

I'm sorry about him: It's impossible to stop someone from drinking, but this may be something else -- anything from thyroid disease to depression to the onset of major mental illness / catatonia. Blood clots in the legs aren't the principal concern. Ask his physician about whether he might be admitted for evaluation. Be strong and I will be thinking of you in the days ahead. ...Read more

Over limit??: Which limit is that. The safe limit for drinking in men is no more than 2 standard drinks (2 12 oz. Beers, 2 5 oz.
