My friend had the stomach flu 3 nights ago and was fine today, eating and drinking normally. I am emetophobic and worried if they are still contagious?
Alcohol is available in many beverages, from beer and wine to the more potent distilled spirits, such as gin, rye, and whiskey. Hello. Went through a stomach flu over the last 4 days. Symptoms better but started feeling light-headed last night. Is this related? Drinking well.
Electrolytes/fluids: After a serious bout of the 'stomach flu' you could be deficient in certain salts/minerals and fluids. Lightheadedness would be a symptom of just such a derangement. I would be extremely careful getting up/changing position, since the last thing you want to do is 'pass out' briefly and hit the floor (or the corner of a table!) Keep up with the fluids/salts-chicken soup is good. See doc if persists ...Read more

That's fine: Hi. A viral gastroenteritis ("stomach flu") will resolve with tincture of time. You do need to stay well hydrated. Gatorade gives you fluid, electrolytes, and a little sugar (helps prevent catabolism). Jello provides sugar and protein. Grape juice provides fluid and sugar. I've never heard the pretzel thing, but if you're tolerating them, they're OK I guess. Just make sure you stay well hydrated. ...Read more

Stomach flu w/watery diarrhoea 7 times a day &fever of 38.2c, drinking water and porridge. How likely is electrolyte imbalance from this? Not pregnant
Fluids and salts: The problem with diarrhea (and vomiting) is the loss of fluids and electrolytes (salts). Trying to 'keep up' with these losses is essential. "Chicken soup" or the equivalent should help keep the balance. I don't know what is in your porridge but that is the general idea. For symptoms like weakness etc. good to get checked out by a doctor. Make sure urine is light yellow to ensure good hydration. ...Read more
