Safest one: Is Miralax (polyethylene glycol)....it just draws water into the colon. Helps get everything around the big baby lump. Makes it a LOT easier to get that baby out when the time comes! Start with 1 cap in 6-8 oz of non-carbonated liquid every day until you are cleared out all the way. Then reduce to every other day to see if you can still maintain a soft BM daily. Adjust as needed. Softeners don't really work. ...Read more
Could my UTI of 2 weeks not go away because I'm breastfeeding? My uti never last this long. Not taking any meds. Drinking plenty water & cranbr juice.
Maybe/not: We know now that cranberry juice does have chemical agents which interfere with the ability of e.coli to thrive in the bladder. We also know that not all burning during urination is due to a UTI. The fact is you may or may not have or have had a UTI and the symptoms may persist because you are not treating it. Proper evaluation & exclusion of this or other possibilities would be a wise choice. ...Read more

Add Miralax (polyethylene glycol): Constipation or stool holding is not uncommon at 22 months of age. It is very difficult to make a toddler eat the required amount of fiber/juice daily to overcome hard stools. To treat the stool holding/constipation I recommend 1/2 capful of MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) daily-an otc stool softener-adjust the dose so your child has 1-3 soft easy thin stools daily. I would continue it for 4-6 months. ...Read more

Diorrhea. Continuous for five days, water like. Am drinking plenty of water, any suggestions as I feel awful?
See your doctor: Diarrhea can lead to electrolyte imbalances, so I would suggest drinking a rehydration solution or sports drink to help replenish these. Taking a probiotic has also been shown to help - yogurt can be eaten if you have that readily available, but I would see your physician soon as possible if it is continuous for 5 days. Antibiotics can help some types of diarrhea. ...Read more
