I take clonazepam 1mg-2mg. Sometimes it work sometimes not. I do sleep with cpap. If I drink a glass of wine with it, I will sleep all night. Is this ok?
Valium (diazepam) is an older benzodiazepine tranquilizer. It was the #1 prescribed drug (of any kind) in the us in the late 1960s but is used less now due to drug interactions and active metabolites. It is still used for anxiety and as "pre-medication" for uncomfortable medical and minor surgical procedures. It is habit-forming, should not be used with alcohol, ...Read more

Have glass of wine at dinner and 3 hours later take. 5 mg ativan (lorazepam) for sleeping. Dr said alcohol with such a low dose of ativan (lorazepam) is not a problem. Okay?
Maybe: Obviously avoid alcohol if it causes any pain or discomfort. Best treatment for gall stones is have a laparscopic cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) which in good medical centers is performed as a day surgery procedure. Red wine can increase gall bladder symptoms. Alcohol/wine can irritate a sensetive bladder, specially ic patients. Why consume it if results are unpleasant? ...Read more
Klonopin (clonazepam) and alcohol: Klonopin (clonazepam) ahould not be used with alcohol. These types of drugs combined with alcohol are the problems that find our celebrities dead in thier bathtubs. I would suggest at least 6-8 hrs between alcohol and klonopin, (clonazepam) but if you need the two of them you might consider yourself as having a substance abuse problem. ...Read more
Not dangerous: However we do not generally recommend alcohol with antibiotics. There should be a warning on the prescription bottle if there are any know issues. We do know that some antibiotics are weakened by alcohol but this is not tested in every case. If in doubt stay away from alcohol for the duration of the prescription. ...Read more

How long after taking 30mg codeine is it safe to have a glass of wine or 2? Can I take 2 doses this morning / lunch time & drink this evening?
Maybe: Aleve (naproxen) is what we call a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medication (NSAID), and it is processed in your body by the liver. When you consume alcohol, it also is processed by your liver. Ideally, you do not want to consume either for long period of time, because over time it can cause damage to your liver. ...Read more
Not advised: I would not recommend every drinking alcohol and taking sedating sleep medication. Together alcohol and sedative/hypnotics can magnify their effects and lead to respiratory depression, which essentially means you can go to sleep and not wake up. There have been unintentional deaths as a result. This would apply to alcohol and pain meds and benzodiazepines. ...Read more

Hello,: Hello, I am wondering if this could be hypothyroidism. Some symptoms can inlcude: weight gain, hair loss, iincrease in tongue size and dry skin. Dry skin can be a source of itching. Other possible symptoms include: feeling tired and weak, feeling depressed or irritable, decreased sex drive, muscle cramps and pain, coarsening of hair, sensitivity to cold and constipation. If your skin feels dry, I suggest using a moisturing lotion. The way that hypothyroidism or other possible endocrine problems would be diagnosed is through specific lab tests. ...Read more

Would drinking a half a glass of wine at 6pm affect a complete metabolic panel test that was performed the next morning at 10?
VERY little if any: The reason one is asked to fast and avoid alcohol before blood testing is to get the most accurate result for the fasting glucose and the triglycerides. An 8 hour fast is usually recommended. You had a relatively small dose of sugar (wine) and it was 12 hours before. I believe your results will be quite reliable. Stay well:) ...Read more

I drink a tad over 1 glass of wine (6 ounces)most nights of the week. I also have IFG. Will the wine HELP or HURT my fight against preventing Diabetes?
Honestly, the answer: Depends on how much you are able to eliminate other carbohydrates from your diet. A 6 ounce glass of wine contains about 150 calories and 5 grams of carbohydrate. This is certainly manageable and will not adversely affect your efforts in diabetes prevention as long as you keep other carbs in check. Dry wines have lower sugar content: pinot noir, pinot blanc, sauvignon blanc. Salut! ...Read more
Is it safe to drink one glass of wine after taking a total of 3mg of Ativan (lorazepam). The last 1mg was taken 4 hrs ago. The other two mg have been like 8hr ago?
I think you must: Already know not to mix these or you wouldn't have asked the question. I agree with earlier answer not to mix alcohol and ativan (lorazepam). I would however recommend that you wait 60 hours (2 1/2 days) until you consider drinking alcohol. They are a dangerous combination. If you take ativan (lorazepam) regularly - would recommend against drinking alcohol altogether. ...Read more
