Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. Yes... : Soda pop contains corrosive acids such as citric, malic, tartaric carbonic or phosphoric which, can remove calcium from tooth enamel. Without protection from the dental enamel, the tissue underneath is susceptible to cavities, root canals & even extractions. Sugar is an additional cavity causing issue, so consider rinsing your mouth after drinking diet soda & soda containing sugar. Water is best. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Its the aspartame: Aspartame has free methyl alcohol which is classified as a narcotic. It causes chronic methanol poisoning which affects the Dopamine system of the brain and causes the addiction. You can get free, but there may be withdrawal effects to get past. Then, steer clear of it anywhere it may be. Good luck! ...Read more
Other than medical conditions & lotta meds. I have LOW sodium. I only drink diet soda (which HAS sodium) 12-14 cans daily! Why would sodium b low??
Too much soda: That is far too much soda. It's making your sodium low based on how your kidneys will handle the soda you are drinking. Your body very tightly regulates your sodium, so you will mostly just pee out the sodium. However, if you drink more volume of liquid than your kidneys can get rid of, then you end up holding on to the fluid and this dilutes the sodium you have in your body. ...Read more

Not really: Diet sodas do not help with weight loss, and usually have a heavy load of phosphoric acid. The artificial sweeteners paradoxically increase the need for sweets elsewhere in the diet. You can have 1 or 2 12oz servings without much downside. More than that is excessive. The best hydrating agent is simply water. It is less expensive, healthier, and has no side effects. Water is a better than soda. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

When taking cipro (ciprofloxacin) for UTI can you take acetameniaphen annd robaxin and can you drink diet soda and eat ice cream?
Cipro (ciprofloxacin): Given that you are in the U.S. The pharmacist would have given you specific instructions about what to be avoided with cipro. Dairy would be on that list. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Robaxin would not be on the list of drug interactions. So, yes to the medications you describe and no to the ice cream. ...Read more
Itch w/urine test negative for stds on many test, doc says possible allergy as it occurs only after drinking diet soda, is this possible?
Yeast?: STDs rarely cause urethral itching in men, no surprise standard STD tests are negative. If urethral discharge, consider nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), an STD usually caused by bacteria not detected with routine STD tests. If your diabetes is poorly controlled, maybe yeast (candida). Hard to imagine an allergic cause, or that it really is connected with diet soda. Keep working w/ your doctor. ...Read more
Labs just came back my ALT is 57 bilirubin is .2. I have been taking allot of tylenol (acetaminophen) and Zoloft i drink diet soda should I be worried?
Don't: Please forgive my frankness. Criticism erodes love. You've found love, but I would not tolerate someone nagging me about food choices. After 30 years, I've concluded that the scares about aspartame, etc. that you'll read online are bogus -- in fact, I'd suggest you ask your local junior college chemistry prof. Diet soda is far healthier than other bellywash and even high-calorie fruit juice. ...Read more
