Umcka/ irrigation: This is not exactly a "home remedy" but the herb pellargonium sidoides (sold as umcka) is proven to work well (whereas research shows antibiotics seldom help). A bit more time..: Not sure whether your main complaint was congestion (inability to breathe through the nose) or facial pain/pressure. I's not uncommon for a true sinusitis to take 3 weeks or even more to clear. Post-nasal mucus: Build up of mucus in post-nasal area over night is very common, particularly in urban, high smog areas. If chronic, would allow hot water from shower or hot compress over sink to soak frontal face area t help loosen the mucus and blow it out. Avoid inhalant irritants or allergy causes in environment.
