After many years & without warning, my dr. Cut my methadone from 60 mg/ day to 10mg/day. Is this safe? I'm having an extremely difficult time!
Very Uncomfortable: Probably safe, however, I wonder why such a rapid change in dosage was made. There are many reasons that dosages are changed that are justified. On the other hand, rapid dosage decreases can cause severe withdrawal symptoms which generally are not dangerous but are extremely uncomfortable but it depends on the patient's other medical conditions. Talk with your doctor and ensure that was intended. ...Read more

Problematic.: A healthy person does not ask another person to hurt them. Whether this is to feel the experience, to release an inner hurt, or another reason, it is a big red flag that something is wrong. Please encourage your friend to get help, or share your concern with a trusted grownup that knows this person. If it's you, please find an adult you're comfortable with to talk to about this. ...Read more

I recently have been circumsised and noticed thst the frenulum hasn't been removed. I wanted a full circumsion, should my dr have cut it? Can he still?
Probably but Why: Cutting the frenulum will greatly decrease sensitivity. While it is often done when an infant is circumsized, most try to avoid it. The frenulum has a tremendous number of nerve endings in it that greatly add to pleasure and sensation and you did have a "full circumcision" even if the frenulum was not cut. Still, ask your surgeon/doctor if you are not happy with what they did. ...Read more

Dr said ok to stop 5 mg bystolic (nebivolol). Can you split or cut 5 mg bystolic (nebivolol). Can you safely go to 2.5 mg or do you need to do 3.75 mg for a week then 2.5 mg
Depends: 1) get stitches if needed 2) good wound care - keep it from getting infected - wash twice a day with soap and water and cover with thin film of antibiotic ointment 3) after it heals -- plenty of sunscreen so it doesn't pigment differently from the rest of your skin 4) vitamin E may help - you can buy the gel caps and break it open and rub it in once a day. ...Read more

Yes: The biggest issue with self cutting is why are you doing it. The cutting itself can cause scarring, infection and blood loss. If you hit a major vein or artery you could cause serious harm. Most people who self cut are trying to feel something different than what's truly causing them pain. Trying to substitute one pain for another is not a healthy thing.
