What causes double vision after cataract surgery?

Many possible causes: If the double vision is in just the operated eye, then the cornea or implant has a problem. If the double vision occurs only with both eyes open, then there is a misalignment issue. Your ophthalmologist should be able to sort this out.

5 years after cataract surgery. Shld I do something? Anything to worry abt? It's been 2 yrs since my last checkup. Not much changes with vision.

Absolutely yes!: There are many silent causes of blindness that can occur months to years after cataract surgery, and you should have annual dilated ophthalmological examinations. You can't be certain that your eyes are healthy just because you think that your vision is unchanged.

Will intense computer work in the days after cataract surgery negatively impact my final vision? I feel I have lost slight distance acuity from this.

Will intense computer work in the days after cataract surgery negatively impact my final vision? I feel I have lost slight distance acuity from this.

No effect: Computer use does not harm the eyes nor does it change eye power. It is fatiguing and drying but these are momentary and no permanent changes.

When after cataract surgery before you can see how corrected your vision is?

When after cataract surgery before you can see how corrected your vision is?

It depends: Everyone heals a bit differently and not every cataract is the same. Most cataract patients see very well by 1 week after their surgery. Your vision should be fully healed by 3-4 weeks after uncomplicated cataract surgery.

Could I have the wrong grad iol after cataract surgery my vision 20/25 in that eye, before that I had a retina detachment 8 mnts ago too?

Not really: Vision of 20/25 after history of a retinal detachment is very good. If you had a wrong intra ocular (iol) then you may have a worse vision. You may need corrective lens to compensate for the wrong power of iol.

I have developed a relevant increase in myopia and a blurred vision due to light sensitivity 3 days after cataract surgery. What can be the reasons?

Not uncommon: The eye is in the early healing stages and is usually accompanied by some inflammation. Post op eye drops help. A very red eye and or pain would be reasons for concern. Any severe decrease in vision would be a reason for concern - and reason to see your surgeon.

Perhaps: Corneal abrasion at the time of cataract surgery can happen, but it is very rare. Certain conditions can increase the incidence (dry eyes, blepharitis, even previous lasik). The retinal swelling also is somewhat rare to the level you are describing, but it too still happens. Conditions like diabetes, uveitis history, and pre-existing wrinkling of the retina (epiretinal membrane) increase risk.
