No effect on effect: Smoking would not be expected to change the effectiveness of doryx (doxycycline). If smoking and Doryx (doxycycline) both upset your stomach, one could make the other more distressing, but i doubt you'd be smoking if it routinely upset your stomach. You shouldn't smoke anyway! stop it now and save a lot of healthcare dollars and misery later. ...Read more

YES: Typical course of Accutane is 5 months. Usually the acne is clearing by the 3rd month. At that time you no longer need the doryx (doxycycline). Most people prefer the generic Doxycycline in a low dose because it costs so much less than the brand "doryx (doxycycline)". Most people need little or no treatment after a course of accutane.
