Diffusely heterogeneous thyroid gland without discrete dominant nodules." what does that mean?
Heterogeneity: Heterogeneous means the size is irregular in terms of thickness throughout. Homogenous is the opposite and would mean the gland is uniform in size. Probably not related: If you require thyroid hormone for life, then stopping it may result in an increase in the overall size of your gland (a goiter) which should shrink when you restart the hormone, but nodules are generally not caused by stopping thyroid hormone.
