My 28month (2 1/2 y/o) and I both have food poisoning.. and stuck in bed any ideas how to make the symptoms (throwing up and chills) more manageable?
Gastroenteritis: The question is whether you both have a viral gastrointestinal infection rather than food poisoning. Either way treatment is simply rest, intake of adequate fluids including flat ginger ale which settles the stomach, and use of Tylenol for aches, pains and feverishness. Diet should be light with broth, salitine crackers and advancing to soft, bland foods. Symptoms should resolve in a few days. Read more

UR probably right...: About the food poisoning, which should run its course if your girlfriend is otherwise a young healthy woman. Not likely: Food poisoning comes from toxins that are already in food - it usually takes hours for symptoms to start. Gi infections from contaminated food usually take longer (12-48 hours). Immediate pain after eating is more likely to be a GI disorder like an ulcer or gallbladder problem, but it could also be from a food allergy. Read more
