Proven vs unproven: By definition, "alternative" is different than modern western medicine. Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or procedure that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine. The problem is that many alternative practices, herbs etc do not stand up to scientific scrutiny and cannot be shown to work. They therefore remain "alternative". Be careful and watch your wallet. ...Read more

Whoa!: If you really have parasites -- something worse than crab lice -- then you need to get with a scientific physician. If a practitioner of "live cell analysis" has showed you your blood teeming with "parasites" and offered to cure you with expensive medication, call your local district attorney -- it's a vicious scam. A good healthy diet & wise nutritional supplements can help you fight infection. ...Read more
Antimalarial drugs: It's a little bit technical - but basically the medicine acts as a 'poison' for the malaria parasite. Plasmodium species have to digest hemoglobin (inside the red blood cell) to survive - but the heme molecule can be toxic when released. Therefore, the parasite tries to sequester that away. Chloroquine interferes with that step - thus leading to a slow poisoning of the parasite. Hope that helps. ...Read more

Are there viruses/parasites which can kill or eat other virus and parasites, when injected into infected person, like king cobras&king snake eat snakes?
I wish there were: Nothing will parasitize a virus -- it's just a bit of genome that's acquired an unfortunate life of its own. Someday lytic phages may be designed to attack bacteria and protozoa -- I've wondered about them for TB and malaria -- but none yet. This is a very good question. ...Read more

What is a safe product I can use to kill parasites while nursing and how long should I wait to nurse after ingesting castor oil?
What parasites?: Different drugs are used for different parasites, so a drug can then be recommended based on effectiveness and safety. Although there is no specific data on breast feeding and castor oil, it is reported that very little of the active ingredient in castor oil is absorbed from the intestine, so levels would be very low in B milk and would pass out of the colon with a bowel movement. ...Read more

Is boiling my drinking water for up to 5-10 minutes enough to kill parasites like giardia and bacteria and viruses?
Can I prevent food poising if I drank alcohol with food? I'm traveling to india and getting anxious. Doesn't alcohol kill germs and bacteria and parasite
Alcohol/ food poison: Doubt it, would have to soak food before eating in 70% alcohol for 10 minutes (> 140 proof), may be more then 10 minutes for dense foods as every niche has to be soaked. Bacteria will resist destruction by the stomach (very acid pH of 2-4) and then grow in the intestines. Eat completely cooked foods/meats (nothing raw or pink), fish, boiled disinfected water. Bring peptobismol, discuss with MD ...Read more
