Does Warfarin Affect My Body Temperature
Warfarin: The duration of time it takes for warfarin to be eliminated from your body depends on a few factors. It depends on the dose that you were previously taking, it depends on the pro time level at the time that you stop warfarin, and it depends on how much vitamin k is in your diet. That being said, usually we estimate 5 to 7 days for reduction of the effect of warfarin down to a level of baseline. ...Read more
I had an uedvt 1.5 months ago. On warfarin. Symptoms better, just mild aching. Is it ok to work out my upper body again?

What vitamin can I take while on Coumadin (warfarin) my body trembles alot. Is this because of constant blood being drawn from me. I don't smoke drink or do drugs?
Benecol and warfarin: Benecol and warfarin should not have any significant interactions. However, you are on high risk medications in terms of drug-drug interactions with warfarin (esp flecainide). Always discuss with your healthcare provider when you start any new non-prescription ingredients (incl herbal teas, vitamins, etc) and any changes with your prescription medications. ...Read more
What vegetables do you suggest that I eat or don't eat that will not affect the Coumadin (warfarin) while im taking it?
The problem: The problem is not so much what vegetables to avoid, but in being consistent with your intake. Vegetables and their nutrients are very important for your overall health. I agree with my colleagues that large amounts of vit k can interfere with coumadin's anti-thrombotic effect, but your Coumadin (warfarin) dose can be adjusted to your diet. Whole foods are much safer than vit k supplements in this regard. ...Read more

Go see your doctor..: Now! You didn't explain why you're taking Coumadin (warfarin) but we typically aim for inr 2-3 if for blood clot or atrial fibrillation or clotting disorder. We aim for 2.5-3.5 if you have mechanical valve. Inr of 6.1 is way too high. Your Coumadin (warfarin) dose needs to be held/adjusted & inr monitored closely until back into therapeutic range. 8 lb weight loss in 2wks is not normal either. Go see your doctor now! ...Read more
I have an INR of 9ish n I haven't had warfarin for a week but it keeps going up everyday IV had vit k but nothing's happening but I have headaches?
Can't say for sure: There could be a variety of reasons. It needs to clear that your headaches are not due to bleeding in the brain area. Usually after stopping warfarin the protime recovers. There can occasionally be coagulation issues that need to be clarified and why you got the warfarin initially. ...Read more
Easier to control: It doesn't have to be at an exact time, but, warfarin is easier to regulate if taken at a consistent time. I prefer at dinner time or thereabouts, so that when dosage changes are recommended, you won't have already taken that day's dose. ...Read more

Don't know: I googled "warfarin disease" and couldn't find anything other than warfarin necrosis which is a condition that occurs in some people who are treated with warfarin (a blood thinner). Within a few days of starting treatment, a paradoxical increase in clotting can occur in some individuals leading to skin/sq fat death. Typically this occurs in obese, middle-aged women. ...Read more
Probably, however...: I am not a fan of warfarin because it has more interactions than any drug; it seems like virtually every food & medicine renders it more or less active. Redbush tea is not known to interact with warfarin but it would not surprise me if it did to some degree. Try it but monitor your PT to make sure the dose does not need adjusting. I advise taking a low dose of Vit K. See http://tinyurl. Com/n4vpk8b ...Read more
Gingko and bleeding: The "three g's" (gingko, ginseng, and garlic) can all thin the blood. None of these should be taken with Coumadin (warfarin) because they will increase the chance of having bleeding problems. ...Read more
Yes: I checked it, and I do not see any interactions reported between Zicam and warfarin. But I am wondering what you are taking warfarin for? As you know there are many drugs that interact with warfarin, so that you are doing right thing by asking the question before you trake any new medicine.
