Possibly: If the iron deficiency is associate anemia it certainly can. Taking iron supplements slowly increases your blood count, depending on how low it was and if you have ongoing blood loss it may take up to a month or more to get your blood count back to near normal....Don't expect an effect in only 3 days. By itself, no: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is so common in growing kids that it is the default diagnosis in most cases.
