Some say high doses of Vit C can acidify urine and thus help treat UTI's, but research on this has only used doses up to 4 grams a day and found that dose didn't acidify urine enough to kill bacteria. However, taking higher doses (like 1-2000 mg per hour) might be effective. The only significant side effect might be loose stools. You could get pH strips to monitor.

Vitamin C is: generally good for you. If you take too much you may get the runs. Daily maintenance dose would be one 1K tab in the a.m. and one 1K tab in the p.m. It only lasts in your body for about 12 hours so whatever you take needs to be in divided doses. No such thing unless: In general vitamin c is extremely safe and non-toxic and you can not overdose, in the sense of taking a quantity that would damage your health. Yes: Anything in excess can kill. The difference between a poison and a medicine is the dose. Even water in excess can kill. Vitamin c is extremely safe so you would have to takes gobs of it to do harm but i would not recommend taking more than one gram (1000 mg) of vitamin c per day because the risk for developing kidney stones starts to increase at this dose. NO- good idea!: The vitamin c foundation recommends adults take 1000 mg of vit c 3x/day. Nobel prize winner linus pauling advised 6-18, 000 mg/day. Noted expert thomas levy md advises 6-12, 000 mg/day. I personally take 1-2, 000 mg 2x/day. There is no evidence that 3-6, 000 mg is dangerous. 500-1000mg per day: The old recommended daily allowance for vitamin c was 100 mg. We do get ample vitamin c normally in our diet. New guidelines are suggesting 500-1000mg per day.
