Does Using Inositol Work For Curing Anxiety
Possibly: Inositol is a natural supplement that may help anxiety by reducing the stress response. In two small studies, doses of 12 to 18 g per day was as effective for reducing intensity and frequency of panic attacks as ssri and better than placebo for reducing intensity and frequency of panic attacks. Side-effects were comparable to ssri and include possible gastrointestinal upset.See 1 more doctor answer

How much inositol is safe to take in one day? I have been taking 1 gram per day and it helps my anxiety a little bit. Is this better than medication
18 grams/day or more: Studies have been done using up to 18 grams of Inositol per day and found it safe & well-tolerated with few mild side effects. If it works for you it's better than drugs as it's safer & less habit-forming, but also try exercise, meditation & counseling. Many other supplements may help as well- see http://www. Lef. Org/Magazine/2011/3/The-Chemistry-of-Calm/Page-02 Also consider classical homeopathy.
Helps panic attacks&: In a double-blind controlled study inositol was found to be more effective than fluvoxamine (prozac) in reducing panic attacks & in those patients it worked as well as fluvoxamine for relieving anxiety & agoraphobia. It is also proven useful for OCD & depression. More research is needed but it is safe and many people have found it helpful. See http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Would inositol make ocd/anxiety worse before it gets better? Kind of like SSRI's do. Also is inositol really effective for ocd?
Why would I have anxiety attacks from taking a very low dose of Inositol (300mg)? It's not listed as a side effect. Its supposed to help anxiety.
Inositol: The problem with many supplements you take is they have not been subjected to studies but are supported by anecdotal or self reported uses. You also do not know if the supplement is pure. It may have reacted with something else you ingested as well, it is reported to cause agitation with caffeine. Or it may be doing nothing and your baseline anxiety is acting up.
My doctor suggested 8 grams of powdered inositol daily for anxiety. Can I take this with minocin (minocycline) and ativan? Should I start on a smaller dose?
Yes you can, BUT: Please don't rely solely on Ativan (lorazepam) or even inositol to deal with your anxiety. If you haven't already, please get a comprehensive evaluation of your anxiety by a psychiatrist and psychologist who knows cbt and other talk therapies well. If meds are needed, ssri's will help anxiety without exposing you to habit-forming meds like ativan (lorazepam). http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmed/9169302.
Benfotiamine-150mg, mecobalamin-1500mcg, alpha lipoic acid-100mg, chromium picolinate-200mcg & inositol-150mg doc gave me for anxiety, nerves (1aday)11days?
Adjunct only: This is a mix of vitamins and minerals. If you have anxiety that is making life difficult, your physician can help you get out of or deal with a bad situation, help you to find other ways of thinking / learn new skills, and perhaps offer temporary medicine that actually works. Be brave and best wishes.
I'm scared of meds so doctor told me to take inositol vitamin b powder for anxiety. Does it interact with ativan (lorazepam)? Can I take it in juice?
Inositol: Inositol will help anxiety and won't interact with ativan (lorazepam). Yes, you can take it in juice. You should probably stop the Ativan (lorazepam) if you're scared of meds. Another wonderful supplement for anxiety is an herb called holy basil. It helps balance adrenal stress so it helps anxiety naturally. Also, other b vitamins, eating regular meals that have protein in them, avoiding caffeine will all help anxiety.See 1 more doctor answer
Is it safe to take wellbutrin (bupropion) with inositol? Will inositol cause wellbutrin (bupropion) to not work as well?
???: Why would you want to use inositol? Are you clear on dosage? Wellbutrin (bupropion) is used an antidepressant, but there are many better known medications to use than inositol. This is more complicated than it seems. Check with the physician who prescribed the wellbutrin (bupropion).See 1 more doctor answer

Linden Method: It appears to be a behavioral treatment program using packaged materials. They focus on issues related to the amygdala, and treat anxiety with a series of dvd's and cd's. There is a one year money back guarantee, and it has some favorable reviews from users, and costs around $175 for the program. Not sure of the efficacy but with a one year money back offer, it may be worth a look.
