Does Too Much Protein Affect Your Bladder
Animal protein gives me rhinitis and weaker bladder. How is this possible? . Skin allergy tests don't show any allergies.
Skin tests,: While great for diagnosing inhalants (pollen, dander, dust mite), aren't great at evaluating food hypersensitivity. Sometime blood tests can help figure it out, but they are also not that reliable. If you know what causes the rhinitis (and weaker bladder from blowing your nose?), then you need to avoid it. The good news is that people who eat lots of whole fruits and vegetable live healthier lives.
The bladder is a muscular organ in the pelvis that accepts urine from the kidneys, stores the urine at low pressure, & expels the urine during voluntary voiding. Though seemingly a simple reservoir, the bladder is a complex organ intricately connected with the brain and spinal cord with sensory, motor, and autonomic circuits. The muscular layer that contracts during voids ...Read more
Can exercising and taking protein shakes causes bladder issues? If yes, then please mention the issues and their treatments?
See answer: Though some bladder or urological problems may be aggravated by exercise, stress, or dietary factors (alcohol, caffeine, spicy or acidic/citrus foods and beverages); exercise and protein shakes do not generally cause "bladder issues". Interstitial cystitis and non-bacterial prostatitis are two relatively common urological problems that can be aggravated by exercise and/or dietary indiscretions.
Went for urine test. Blood 2+, protein trace, leuk 3+. What does this mean? I am also very tired with pain in kudneys and bladder.
Infection: You have a significant urinary tract infection.
What low grade lymphoma am I expecting with tiny IgM kappa monoclonal protein in beta 2 region? I had bladder polyp removed last year, related?
Polyp not due to IgM: People with igm monoclonal gammopathy don't necessarily develop lymphoma, esp. If the m-spike is small. Options are it remains unchanged for years, it turns into a low-grade lymphoma like waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia or marginal zone lymphoma, it turns into chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or it causes nerve damage (neuropathy). All of these things are treatable with new options emerging rapidly.
Went to docs has there is pressure on bladder she told me there was protein in a urine sample I did an ketones an a trace of glucose is this bad?
U/A glu pro ketones: Normally you should not have glucose in urine, It is a sign for diabetes. Would get a fasting blood glucose and a hemoglobin A1C. Trace protein and ketones may be seen if dehydrated/fasting but protein is also seen with diabetes due to kidney issues (so may ketones but that is in severe diabetes). Discuss with your doctor/ urgent care
To do US abdomen+bladder I'd eaten only protein for 1day. Then I did urine test:ketone bodies presented! Is this due to only 1 day of proteic diet?
Possible, not enough: Data for probabilityGet a more detailed answer ›
Burning urination. Trace blood/protein in U/A. Negative culture. Urine was in bladder for 3 hrs before sample. Was that long enough for accurate test?
Get urine rechecked: With trace blood in urine, would make sure that a microscopic analysis was done to prove that there was truly blood in the urine as dipstick testing can produce false positives at times. If micro exam not done, repeat urinalysis with this. Also, would get urine tested for T mycoplasma/ureaplasma organisms as this can cause urinary discomfort as well.See 2 more doctor answers
Does a man get prostatitis/bladder/kidney issues if he's taking amino acid tabs and protein shakes for bodybuilding?
Past month feel like I have a full bladder even when I have just been. Urine test showed little protein&white blood cells. Neg preg. Whts wrong?
Probable infection: The symptoms and findings on the urine test suggest urinary tract infection (UTI) See a health care provider for evaluation and treatment.
Urine test lab results show protein and blood in the tribe but no growth. His means its not. Bladder infection. What could the blood and protein be caused by?
Blood and protein: Your urine analysis findings of blood and protein could be caused by a glomerulonephritis (g). Ssee a nephrologist (n) to collect our urine for 24 hours to see how much proteinuria (p) you have as well as having blood taken to see if you have a cause for it. If you have > 1 gram of p/day, you may need a kidney biopsy to get a diagnosis and a prognosis. See a n for an answer to your query.See 1 more doctor answer

In < 1wk my c-reactive protein went from 1.4 to 14. I have uti, ms, asthma, htn, & neurogenic bladder. I take copaxone, lipitor, (atorvastatin) oxybutyn. Surgery?
Surgery? For what?: I'm not sure about your question. Are you asking if surgery is indicated for sudden increase in your crp? If so, then no, it isn't. While CRP is a marker of inflammation, there are many reasons for inflammation, including infection, injuries & allergies. Your UTI could definitely cause CRP to spike rather dramatically. Be sure to take antibiotics as prescribed to cure your UTI & drink lots of h2o.
Hot flashes at age 38? Normal periods but painful intercourse. Irritated bladder, benign tumor removed. Protein and blood in urine. See doctor again?
Yes, please: There are enough issues that it would be prudent to consult your doctor.
Is too much protein bad for you? I don't get enough from being vegetarian & wanted to try protein powder
Nothing but --------: Eating too much protein will not make you gain more weight and muscle mass according to the experts, but has been used in low carb diets to loose weight, but long term they may do more harm than good, the harm may be subtle and not easily noticed too much protein puts stress on your kidneys cause problems with kidneys, cause constipation and ketosis ie accumulation of ketones in blood and dehydration.
Varies w age, sexes: As a general rule, between 50-60 gms should suffice for an average male. Higher amount may be needed for athletes or people who burn more calories. Smaller 49-59 gms daily suffices for most females with similar need for adjustment.
Definition please.: If your liver and kidneys are healthy, even if you are a competitive weight lifter or div.1 football player (sec, more elite), you need only at max, 1 gram per pound of body weight. Any more than that is wasted!
