Will penile thrush go away on its own or do I need cream to help it?

Will penile thrush go away on its own or do I need cream to help it?

Canidada: This is chronic colonization with the same "fungus" normally present in the female vagina. The is a "yeast" infection of the penis. It will never go away completely because the "yeast" is always there- like bacteria in your nose or under fingernails. A circumcision is the long-term cure but I usually suggest "Desenex athlete's Foot powder, not ointment as long term treatment to prevent outbreaks

Not sure it is: I doubt what you have is thrust and the coloration of the tongue offers no help in making a diagnosis. I suspect that the bitter taste and odor may be from bile reflux instead. Contact your doctor.
And yes, thrush may go away on its own -quicker if treated.

Do you think I'll need to use creams to get rid of thrush or will it go away on its own?

Do you think I'll need to use creams to get rid of thrush or will it go away on its own?

It is best to treat: The thrush. Once in a while it will resolve if the causes are corrected - but I would NOT rely on this.

Seek attention: You should seek attention. While thrush is easily treated, it can be an indication of other illness such as diabetes (out of control). There are other illness that cause symptoms in the mouth that might be thought of as thrush but are not. If you are on antibiotics, it would making curing more difficult. Again if this is truly thrush it should be easy to eliminate by a physician prescription.

Clotrimazole: Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication used for treatment of vaginal yeast infections & oral thrush. There is no guarantee that the infection will be adequately treated in that amount of time. A yeast infection usually resolves in one to two weeks with appropriate treatment. It may take longer for those who are immunocompromised.

My thrush won't go away. What are some newer less studied treatments out there?

See a dermatologist: Maybe the reason it "won't go away" is because it was not treated correctly or perhaps it is not thrush at all.
