Can i take metronidazole 500mg(prescribed for bv, two a day) and azithromycin(prescribed for chlamydia) at the same time? The metronidazole is supposed to be taken once in the morning and once at night and the azithromycin im supposed to take a ll 4 capsu

It : It is ok to take both, but you might want to give your stomach at least a 20 minute rest in between the Azithromycin dose and the Metronidazole dose. Both can cause stomach upset, so taking them together may make you feel pretty miserable. Taking them with food or milk can help. Need to be seen: If you are being treated for chlamydia and likely pid, and you are still having an abnormal discharge, then you really need to be seen. There is nothing that you can do on your own to solve this or make the symptoms go away. The infection needs to be identified and properly treated. ...Read more

It depends...: ...on how soon you vomit after each dose. Within 30 minutes, treatment may not work. After a half hour, usually enough antibiotic is retained or has been absorbed to still be effective. If both doxycycline and metronidazole, don't take them together and take both with food.
