Does The Advocare 24 Day Challenge Work
There was some: Controversy about one of advocare's products being tainted with clenbuterol, which can increase blood pressure by constricting blood vessels. Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) 's active ingredient, adderall, also increases blood pressure. Both are fda category c in pregnancy, meaning some effect on the fetus has been found. Check the ingredients in Advocare ; make sure you're not pregnant before starting Advocare products. ...Read more

I take wellbutrin (bupropion) and I'm on a vitamin cleanse Advocare 24 day challenge. Can the herbal and vitamin supplements stop my wellbutrin (bupropion) from working?
Not likely: The herbal parts of this regimen seem to include milk thistle, echinacea, and astragalus -- none of which should cause a problem with wellbutrin (bupropion). If you're also taking the fiber part of this plan, I suggest taking that separately from your medication so that absorption is as good as possible. ...Read more
I started the 24 day challenge w/advocare on the 1st, thinking it would help clean me out, but I haven't had a bm in almost 2 days now. Help!
Stop: Why are you trying to 'clean (yourself) out? Your body does this perfectly normally without help. That is what the colon does for a living. You can change your bowel flora with what you eat. Try cultured yogurt (non-pasteurized) three times a day. Lactobacillus or bifidobacterium will make your stools look like a breast-fed baby's. Read about what pt barnum said. ...Read more
Can't know for sure: It is not a good idea to take anything with "health claims" or "medical claims" that is not an fda approved drug, because non-approved drugs and treatments may or may not have correct ingredients, and may or may not have pure ingredients. Also, the advertised effects may or may not occur in humans, plus the side effects are usually uncertain and unadvertised. It's safest to avoid marketing hype. ...Read more
Should someone with LongQT2 (corrected with a defib, no meds) use advocare? More specifically, the 24-day challenge?
Be aware: I would review the entire spectrum of supplements utilized in the 24 day challenge with your cardiologist, as the cleanse phase may involve weak diuretics that may lower your potassium levels - which is bad in the case of long QT syndromes. Also the energy supplements may contain rather high doses of caffeine which can also be suboptimal with long QT syndromes. ...Read more

I'm doing Advocare 24 day cleanse challenge. Yesterday I had the symptoms of a yeast infection. Very itchy and minor discharge. Never had one. Help!
About 7 days into my 24 day challenge with Advocare I started having irregular heartbeat and a fluttering heart.. Heart rate 45. No symptoms before.?
Stop!: Your 24 day Advocare challenge has likely caused an electrolyte imbalance and unmasked a cardiac arrhythmia. I urge you to stop, get a blood sample for potassium and magnesium, and an EKG or 24 hour Holter exam. It could be a coincidence, but your heart still needs a check up regardless. ...Read more
I was on the Advocare 24 day cleanse and apparently conceived mid cleanse, unknowingly. Have I risked my baby's development?!
Not likely but...:
Not likely, but I have had two patients who did the Advocare cleanse and experienced an increase in liver enzymes on blood testing. An increase in those enzymes is a strong indication that their livers were stressed while doing the cleanse. I do not recommend it.
Advocare+ Accutane: Hello~ short answer YES its OK to take, but I read the 24d challenge on their site and I saw nothing that could be attributed to sound medical practice. The concept of biological "cleanse" is based on false premise. You cannot "cleanse" the bowel. If you did you would not be able to digest food. Using metamucil daily would do same and better. PURGING is bad! Thanks ...Read more
On max phase of advocare (14th day), my wife has on-going BM's from that time that are excessive and painful, could this be caused by the pill packet?

I'm doing the advocare 10 day cleanse for 4 days now & the whole time I've felt nauseas & headaches that won't go away. Should I stop the cleanse?
No "cleansing" need: Normal human's have self-clearing (like self-cleaning) intestinal tracts. After a person eats, the food is processed and moved along from the stomach all the way to her anus, without any help or interference from him. If a person is eating a healthy, balanced diet, no colon cleansing is needed. Such cleansing is unnatural. But, it is ok to occasionally use laxative help to get rid of constipation. ...Read more
