More info: Macrocytic anemia can have many causes and more information is needed. Alcohol intake is a common cause especially when it is accompanied by ingestion of nsaids, the combination causing gastritis and bleeding. A 2nd opinion!: You can contact a psychiatrist and tell them about your situation and ask for them to provide their opinion. If they agree w/ your present Dr there's always a 3rd, etc. But I'd think after a 2nd in agreement, a talk therapist might help you understand your condition better. Best!
