My dad has macrocytic anemia. His liver and kidney tests are normal. Mch, b12, WBC normal. Could it be due to zyprexa (olanzapine)? Is it riskier than microcytic?
More info: Macrocytic anemia can have many causes and more information is needed. Alcohol intake is a common cause especially when it is accompanied by ingestion of nsaids, the combination causing gastritis and bleeding. A 2nd opinion!: You can contact a psychiatrist and tell them about your situation and ask for them to provide their opinion. Unfortunate: unfortunately not too much is known about the interaction between kanna and medications in general. It does have some euphoric effects and some literature shows that it can cause some hallucinations however this is not confirmed and some literature shows against this. probably not a good idea to take such substances with prescribed medications. check with your physician. ...Read more
