Consider T3, No but: Many people find that thyroxine does not adequately treat their hypothyroidism and benefit from t3 or natural thyroid- see http://bit.Ly/15k26u8 ; http://abt.Cm/18gpb3a it is impossible to clear years of toxin accumulation overnite- it's a long process. For great info on a detox program see http://www.Healthy.Net/scr/article.Aspx?Id=1558 it's best to lose slow ; steady- see http://bit.Ly/1dhw9ht. ...Read more

Thyroid issue please look hi i just got back test result. Im on 150 mcg Synthroid and 1 grain armour. I
missed this month period, I have also difficult time to lose weight and feeling tired. Where is
> TSH 0.006 norma 0.450 - 4.5
The : The Armour Thyroid screws up the tests and makes treatment very challenging and has many drawbacks. See my blog post below. There are many causes of fatigue, tiredness and difficulty losing weight. No endocrinologist or experts recommend checking reverse t3, its silly and a waste of money. These tests suggest that you are getting too much thyroid hormone. I suggest you discuss with your prescribing doctor, hopefully an endocrinologist, switching you to synthroid only and rechecking your levels in 6 weeks. Too much thyroid can also cause tiredness and stress your heart. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
What happens if people use Synthroid to lose weight, then why do so many people complain that it makes them get fat?
Doesn't work: If your thyroid function is normal, taking thyroid hormone will not help you lose weight. You would need to take toxic doses to raise your metabolism high enough to lose weight, and will lose more muscle than fat. In addition, high thyroid levels make you more hungry, so many people will gain weight rather than lose. There is no "easy" solution to lose weight. Eat less, exercise more. ...Read more

My TSH is .913, T4 Free id 1.95 and T4 is 14.6. I take .88 mcg of Synthroid daily. sluggish and can't lose weight. 53 year-old male. Is .88 right?
Possibly not: If your lab tests are accurate and reported in the usually accepted units, 0.88 mg of Synthroid might actually be too much. Your free T4 and T4 are both slightly high and your TSH is almost over-suppressed suggesting that you may be getting too much Synthroid. This is certainly not consistent with your symptoms of sluggishness. This needs review with your treating physician/Endocrinologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
