Fluid intake: If a urine culture was negative for infection, you may be experiencing urethral irritation and, for this, adequate fluid intake may relieve the urinary burning. SHoot for at least two quarts of fluids per day to ensure a good urinary output.

Are there any foods, medicines, supplements or otc medicines that would cause a false positive for suboxone? Thanks so much for your time and help!!

+ test for suboxone: Long and short answer NO! While the "dip" tests can give false positives - any test sent to a lab would be looking specifically for the buprenorphine or nonorbuprenorphine molecule in your urine so unless your body can chemically change compounds. If the test is positive for suboxone - you ingested suboxone (buprenorphin

I have been on Suboxone 8 mg for 2 years now. Can Suboxone cause any damage when taken for a long period of time. And how long is it ok to take for?

I have been on Suboxone 8 mg for 2 years now. Can Suboxone cause any damage when taken for a long period of time. And how long is it ok to take for?

Liver mainly: Suboxone can cause liver toxicity. You should have that monitored. There are unsubstantiated reports of other problems e.g. neurological, but there isn't a clear association so far. You can check with the NIMH and FDA for updates on reported adverse events with medications, as well, to stay up to date.

Is it safe to take buspiron 15mg twice a day And suboxone 8mg/2mg one film twice a day? I was prescribed the medications but read it can cause death?

Is it safe to take buspiron 15mg twice a day And suboxone 8mg/2mg one film twice a day? I was prescribed the medications but read it can cause death?

Dosage OK, check MD: The dosages you mention are within appropriate limits. Side effect list on any opiate medication will list death as a possibility, don't get too alarmed. You need to check with your prescribing MD re interactions and tell him/her ALL meds and supplements you are taking. It is critical that you follow dosage directions EXACTLY with medications of this type. Good luck!

Don't know: BUT I WOULD NOT TAKE A CHANCE...Furthermore if you are taking suboxone as a part of a addiction recovery program this would certainly violate your contract! Hope this helps STAY COOL! BE CLEAN! Dr Z

Will Suboxone cause you to go into worse withdrawals if you take it when going through actual oxycontin withdrawals?

Will Suboxone cause you to go into worse withdrawals if you take it when going through actual oxycontin withdrawals?

No: Suboxone will help withdrawls from oxycotin. If you are not in withdrawls already and then take suboxone, it will cause what is called precipitated withdrawls. Suboxone is very helpful with relieving withdrawls and cravings for persons with an addiction to opiates such as oxycotin. However to be effective in treating opiate addiction it must be prescibed and monitored by a physician.

Can Suboxone cause sleep apnea?

Can Suboxone cause sleep apnea?

Bup & sleep apnea: Sleep-disordered breathing (eg sleep apnea) is more common in opioid (mu receptor agonist) users. However, the generalization hasn't been proven scientifically with buprenorphine, a partial mu receptor agonist. A poorly designed 2012 study showed an association between bup & sleep disorder breathing. A link may exist, but likely lower with bup than other opiates. A sleep study would be needed.

Yes: Suboxone is an opioid. Chronic use of any opioid might lead to hypogonadism with decreased hormonal level. Your fatigue might be a result of low testosterone, but also can be results of other medical conditions. Please see your doctor for evaluation.

I took 4mg of Suboxone on tuesday cause I ran out of my methadone and was in complete withdrawl... I have a urine test on Monday 5 days later?

Unlikely to show: Unless urine test specifically looks for buprenorphine, it's unlikely to detect that drug, which would be in very low concentration by then. It's still best to be honest with your physician when he asks about drug intake.

Does Suboxone cause permanent brain damage?

Does Suboxone cause permanent brain damage?

Not permanent: Brain damage is not the word I would use. Opiate addiction in general can cause long lasting changes to the brain. Suboxone is a type of opiate and completely stopping it can be difficult without other forms of support. It takes time, "months" for the brain to recover. Things such as stress or "triggers" even months to years down the road could cause cravings, possible relapse, meetings help!

I'm on Suboxone can I take Fastin (phentermine) which is phenylethylamine. Is it safe. Its a weight medication?

Combo is safe: You can safely take Fastin (phentermine) and Suboxone but there are much better, more effective and safer weight loss drugs then Fastin (phentermine). It is also safe to follow a diet and increase your exercise while taking Suboxone.
