Unlikely: Most probably it's a viral infection leading to this constellation of symptoms, unlikely to be streptococcal pharyngitis from the outset, although bacteria may kick in later, but symptoms will change. Recheck: The strep should not really cause hoarseness or weakness of the vocal cords. If the soreness in the back of your throat is resolved then I would look for another cause of the voice issues.
