E.G. Does smoking bontical inceses have any side effects? And does it hurt an unborn baby? Will it cause the eye to turn red?
Do u mean botanical?: If so, they are not meant to be smoked, and nobody knows what is in them. Anything out of the ordinary has the potential to hurt an unborn baby. Stopping smoking of anything (especially tobacco, but also marijuana, incense etc etc) would be better for you and your unborn child. Anything you smoke can irritate your eyes. Sounds like you need some counseling, please seek some help. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Does using bug sprays right before pregnancy potentially harm sperm & egg and harm the fetus? Heard it may cause brain cancer to unborn baby. Thanks!
No: It is unlikely to remain in your system very long after exposure. Some bug sprays are considered unsafe in pregnancy, but the risks are low. What is more, certain insect-born illnesses are potentially more harmful, so you'll have to weigh your risks and benefits based on your location. I usually recommend deet-free bug sprays. ...Read more

Not just 1 sniff: Repeated exposure to PVC aerosol in pregnancy has not been shown to cause fetal abnormality or miscarriage. Heard it's beneficial to leave the umbilical cord attached to baby for 3 to 5 min so blood can go back to baby. True, benefits to doing this? dangers?
Maybe, maybenot: The idea is there is baby blood in the placenta & it is a good source of iron. Babies don't make much new blood in the first months so their level starts out higher than adults to begin with & normally falls as baby grows. The problem with this move is you can let too much blood go across & babies blood will be too thick & could lead to kidney damage or stroke. I'd avoid it. ...Read more

If Accidentally swallowed an object like piercing while pregnant does it cross the placenta and harm the baby? What can and can't cross the placenta?
No it does not: cross the placenta. Only things in the blood stream can cross the placenta. And then not even blood cells cross it. So microscopic nutrients, minerals, some medications that are taken pass along with some other things too complicated for this discussion. So a piercing you swallowed does not leave your intestines, does not get in your blood stream and has no chance of passing to your baby, ...Read more

Dose should be cut: Your hypothyroidism was borderline with TSH of 4.5 but most would recommend treatment if you are pregnant to get TSH below 3. However the dose of thyroid hormone you were given was too high so now you are mildly hyperthyroid. Don't think it will harm the baby but dose should be reduced to bring your FT4 below 1.8 and your TSH up to the 0.5-3 range ...Read more
