Does Smoking Cause Preeclampsia
Decreased fetal GFR.: Oligohydramnios is a sign of decreased fetal glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in the absence of rupture of amniotic membranes. Preeclampsia can cause placental failure and thus poor perfusion of the fetoplacental unit leading to oligohydramnios. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Preeclampsia: Preeclampsia causes seizures. This is called "eclampsia" and is quite serious, even deadly for both mother and baby. The exact cause of these seizures is not known. The treatment is immediate delivery once the mother has been medically stabilized. Delivery can be vaginal, but is usually by c/s because of the time involved. ...Read more
Preeclampsia : That is a good question, it is easier to tell you the treatment than the cause. The treatment is delivery of the fetus and magnesium for the mother. Also concerning is that women who have this are at increased risk of hypertension for the rest of their life. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Neither: There is no definite etiology known for pre-eclampsia. The predominent theory is that the placenta is a significant factor in the development of pre-eclampsia, how or why is not known. It is clear that the cure for pre-eclampsia is delivery - so something about the pregnancy is clearly involved. To further complicate the picture, about 25% of pre-eclampsia cases arise after delivery. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Post partum high BP: Even though you did not have elevated blood pressure prior to delivery, it is still possible immediately post partum to have pre-eclampsia(Pregnancy induced hypertension- PIH). Cld mild preeclampsia cause brain aneurysm formation in someone with family history or does blood pressure have to remain high for a longer period of time?
Not cause - rupture.: Preeclampsia cannot cause brain aneurysms, but can certainly make them rupture and cause massive strokes. Berry aneurysms in the brain vessels pre-date the pregnancy, but when it is complicated by pree they can leak or rupture with catastrophic consequences. The longer the preeclamptic hypertension goes untreated, the higher the risk of stroke (hemorrhagic, massive, occasionally lethal). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not fully understood: Preeclampsia and eclampsia are not fully understood. Neither are fully understood laboratory changes associated with it like changes in liver enzyme levels or platelet numbers nor why sometimes the liver is enlarged or the kidneys show signs of damage and at other times they don't. Effective treatment in almost all cases is removal of the placenta, with sooner or later recovery of the patient. ...Read more

What are ways to prove mold exposure to be the cause of pre-eclampsia toxemia complications? Http://www.Altmeds.Com/toxicitytoxemia/description
Unknown: There continues to be much research and scientific debate about the causes of preeclampsia . The web- site you note suggests toxemia and toxicity can be interchangeable---that is not true in the obstetric community. It also suggests preeclampsia may be caused by "toxins". That is an over simplification. There is no good data to prove mold exposure causes preeclampsia. ...Read more
