Does Small Vessel Disease Cause Leg Pain
I have spider veins on both legs and have severe knee and leg pain, also the veins swell up and causes it to be hard to sit, stand, and walk.
Other reasons.: In addition to your spider veins, you sound as if you may also have varicose veins. Your symptoms, however, are not typical of just vein problems. You should start with a full venous evaluation by a vein specialist including a venous reflux ultrasound. Depending on this, you may also need to have other causes of your symptoms evaluated such as orthopedic and neurologic. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
A doctor gave me trazodone for leg pain he says my blood vessels are constricted and gave me trazodone what should I take?
Talk to the doctor: Please make sure it was given for leg pain with blood vessel constriction. It could be that he gave it to you for your concurrent depression and/or insomnia. But it's also possible that he meant to write a prescription for another medication such as trental, (pentoxifylline) but may have been mistaken somehow for trazodone. Please check with the doctor who gave you the prescription. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Recurrent DVT: It sounds like you were taken off lifelong blood thinner medication. You should be back on it and wearing 30-40 mmhg compression stockings daily. You do not say if the filters were both removed or how long the present condition exists. Usually, interventional corrections are sucessful if within a 2 week period of dvt. See your vascular spacialist immediately as this is very serious. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Is revascularisationand an option for small vessel disease, regarding leg amputation? What questions should I ask her doctor?
Some times: If revasculizing leads to a higher flow rate and increased pressure then small blood vessels may open up and deliver more oxygen to the tissues. But if the small vessels are clogged as we see with diabetes ( which effect small and large vessels) then it may not help. Hopefully there are only small isolated areas of blockage and the body will compensate with making new collateral vessels. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Veins in right leg swell and then other times really small. Had 3 stents in lad. Also have some type of autonomic disfunction. Bp dropping. Causes?
Normal veins: Veins are thin walled, low pressure structures that fill and become engorged or empty and lie flat depending on gravity and position with state of hydration also contributing. When you sit with your legs down, they'll swell. When you sit or lie and elevate them, they'll empty. Arterial disease (as in stenting of your lad) has nothing to do with your venous system. ...Read more
WHat are veins for ?: Veins are a part of the circulation that takes "used" blood away from an organ and returns it to the heart to be cleaned and have "food" added. When there is something that increases blood flow to an area such as inflammation that occurs when there is an autoimmune or other problem with symptoms in an area such as the face, veins in that area may increase in size (dilate) to carry the blood away. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
