Keloid scar options: Keloids are scars that grow outside the boundaries of the original scar and usually require more agressive treatment such as surgery and injections. Scars that are thick or red but not keoids can be treated with various topicals, my recommendation being scar gel from skinmedica. What is the best treatment for hypertrophic scars, is it best to use silicone sheets or silicone gel. Or is it possible to use both?

Scars: Silicone sheets and gels can be very helpful but usually you need to be consistent and the usually time frame is three months. No need to use both just one or the other. However, it is not perfect and if there is not adequate resolution of the scar, you may need to seek consultation with a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. Hope that helps. ...Read more
