I took 25 grams of sertraline and 20 grams of paxel then took some off brand NyQuil that contains DM, should I be worried?
Doubtful: You will probably not have any problems except for increased drowsiness more from the NyQuil. But in general do not mix drugs like those. Sertaline and Paxil (paroxetine) are very similar drugs so I'm not sure why you would be on both of those. Talk to your doctor. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Is deprenyl any safer than other maois for depression? If i take it and accidentally eat a small amount of tyramine containing food, will i die?
Doubtful: There is a great deal of concern about maoi's such as deprenyl/selegiline. The concern is that ingesting foods such as smoked meats, aged hard cheeses, and fava beans can lead to a hypertensive crisis. However, ingesting relatively small amounts is unlikely to cause a problem, especially if you are on a small dose or the selegiline patch. Nonetheless, it's a good idea to be careful. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Ask self this!: What dose are you on? How long have you been taking it? Are you doing anything that could possibly detract from its effect, like drinking alcohol? What are you taking it for? One needs to be on at least75 to 150 mg for usually 4 to 6 weeks or more before deciding it is not helping. Taking it for ocd will take longer to see an effect than for depression. And maybe it's just not the drug for you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
About a week: Sertraline half life is about one day, meaning the amount of drug in your systems drops by 1/2 each day. So there is 50% left after day 1, 25% after day 2, 12.5% after day 3, etc. So after about a week the drug is generally out of your system. Discontinuation symptoms, like feeling "brain zaps", can last 1 - 2 weeks after stopping the medication. ...Read more
