Fiber?: White rice and farina(the white bread of hot cereals) have no fiber to speak of. Brown rice has a bit more. Whole wheat cereal, e.g. Wheaten a, whole oats, e.g. Oatmeal, oat bran have more fiber. Can't have a decent stool without adequate fiber. In general, aim for 25-35gm/day. Constipation from rice? I ate 800g yesterday and today i'm in agony. Only gone to the toilet once so far. What can I do? Take more water? Thanks!

Yes, however...: White rice has very little fiber (whereas brown rice has more fiber). However, you can minimize the constipating effects of white rice by eating more food rich in fiber: fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds. Try brown rice too- it's more nutritious.
