Does Pooping Lower Heart Rate
Are there medications that only lower heart rate w/out lowering my blood pressure? If yes; could you list a few for me, please? Thanks!
Slow heart rate, also called bradycardia, is defined as a resting heart rate (pulse) less than 60 beats per minute. Having a heart rate less than 60 is not necessarily abnormal. In fact, people in good cardiovascular shape have a low heart rate. People with certain heart conditions may take medications which lower the heart rate as one of ...Read more
Lexapro (escitalopram) lower heart rate? I started taking it six weeks ago (also take metoperlol) my heart rate has dropped into the low 50's since starting Lexapro (escitalopram)
Lexapro (escitalopram) selectively: Inhibit serotonin reuptake. Increase serotonin levels. Cardiovascular effects don't include bradycardia.
Water will, too: If fast heart rate is due to dehydration, rehydration in any form will lower it. Water is the best choice, unless very strenuous, prolonged exercise, then sports drinks may have some slight advantage. Never count caffeinated or alcoholic beverages as rehydration, they actually work as diuretics and make the problem worse.See 2 more doctor answers

Can clonidine lower heart rate? Having POTS, my HR is usually 115 on a good day. The past 2 weeks it's been as low as 40 bpm.
Yes: Loweing heart rate is a side-effect of this centrally acting anti-hypertensive. For a paitent with POTS, I donot believe Clonidine is the best drug for treatment of hypertension becuase of its effect on the autonomic system. See a cardiologist or electrophysiologist, and get another antijypertensive. Note, when weaning off clonidine, you can also get a rebound hypertension. So you need to follow.See 2 more doctor answers

I am experiencing rapid heart rate and I was wondering if muscle relaxers, specifically Flexiril, lower heart rate?
Caveats: Do not use Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) to lower your heart rate. In fact the opposite may occur. Do not use flexeril if you have a heart rhythm disorder, or you have recently had a heart attack; congestive heart failure; heart block; or a thyroid disorder. Obtain a list of all side effects from a pharmacist and consult/follow-up your physician about taking this medication.
BuSpar (buspirone): Can do either, but this is uncommon. (reported in less than 1% of people who take it.). There is a risk of elevated BP with concomitant use of MAO inhibitors. Do not take with grapefruit juice made from the rind. This can lead to toxic blood levels.

If cleared by: Your physician then rest easy...The tests previously performed provide information beyond BP monitors.
Is lower heart rate, the lowest was 37bpm during sleep, (recorded on holter monitor), any danger? I am 33 male, 183cm 92kg. Have b12 defficiency, D defficiency and chronic sinusitis.
How do you FEEL?: If you're an athlete and not having spells where you pass out, this is fine and you should be proud of it. If you have other evidence of heart pathology, it's your physician's decision whether to have you worked up for some obscure illness. If your B12 and D deficiencies are due to vegetarianism, please begin supplementing; if not, try to find the cause and supplement appropriately.See 1 more doctor answer
