Bleeding, pain: Intl hemorrhoids can give u bleeding with a bowel movement, blood on the toilet paper or in the bowl. Other things that could cause bleeding are best evaluated with colonoscopy. Sure, but...: How to define "constipation?" A medical definition is bowel infrequency (less than one bowel movement every 3-4 days). I know of no patient who died due to bowel infrequency. On the other hand, an obstructed colon that ruptures, leaks, infarcts can be life threatening if the obstruction is not relieved. Sounds like CA is unlikely to be the problem, but share concerns with UR doctor & get checked. ...Read more

Virtualy impossible: Colon cancer is practically unheard of in the pediatric population. By the brief history it is conceivable that you have problems due to constipation and an inadequate diet. Make sure he drinks water and not sugary drinks and eats generous portions of veggies and fruit. If he still has problems after you modify the diet, consult your doc. ...Read more

Fiber and water: You need to increase your intake of fiber and water. You may take more fiber foods or take a fiber laxative like Metamucil. Drink enough water, daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless.
