If the pain increases while sitting down, leaning forward and improves with leaning back or standing up, it is most likely from the lumbar disc. I've back pain. Painful to lift left arm. When I breathe it 's worse. Nurse said 'early stages of pneumonia' without examining me. Could it be right?

Possible, but: Not a good plan to diagnose with minimal information. Back and movement of arms hurt from inflamed fascia which stretches little nerve endings. So does breathing if the fascia is inflamed. Although pneumonia "could " cause this, You failed to mention exposure, fever, cough, sputum and shortness of breath. Suspect it is traumatic and will resolve with ibuprophen Every 4-6 hrs. ...Read more

Not normal : It sounds like you need a re-evaluation to make sure a complicating feature to this infection isn't at play or that there isn't an alternative diagnosis beyond just an uncomplicated pneumonia. ...Read more

Let me help you: If you were diagnosed with pneumonia you should have a follow up with your doctor to be sure the pneumonia has resoled that could be done by physical exam and x-ray together, you have to be sure it resolved. Good luck. ...Read more
