Many people do very well w/help from a clinical psychologist who not only does talk therapy but who teaches the person skills to deal w/anxiety, e.g., meditation, breathing techniques, self-hypnosis and the like. Your biochemistry may make you a strong responder to life. W/different thought patterns the same physical response can move from fear to wonder. Category C drug: You a bodybuilder? LOL The "skinny" on this is that niacin is a vasodilator which is why bodybuilders love it (just ask Arnold). It ain't half bad lowering cholesterol as well. But it's labeled a Cat. C risk during pregnancy. That means harm to baby CANNOT BE RULED OUT, Probably safe up to about 18mg daily but best advice is to check with your doctor. Absolutely!: Both of these can certainly be managed, if not "cured" but it takes work on your part. It can be difficult to get started b/c both problems cause one to avoid reaching out to others. But, you must. Start w/ ur pcp, a therapist or clergy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is highly effective w/ both depression ; anxiety.
