Does Mycolog Ii Cream Cure A Yeast Infection Or Is It Just Used For Temporary Relief And If So How Long Will It Take To Cure A Yeast Infection
Does mycolog II cream cure a yeast infection or is it just used for temporary relief? And if so how long will it take to cure a yeast infection?
Yeast "infection": Technically, vaginal yeast "infection" is an overgrowth problem because the natural balance between lactobacilli & yeast has been upset; common causes are antibiotics (kill the lactobacilli), diabetes (more food for the yeast), frequent douching, etc. Mycolog helps decrease the amount of yeast to restore the balance. Many variables determine how long to restore this balance/"cure the infection". ...Read more

Reevaluation: Yeast should not cause agonizing pain. If you are in this much pain one has to question the diagnosis of a yeast infection. Consider a follow up visit to reevaluate the problem. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Probably not yeast: Yeast infections are uncommon in the male genital tract. This symptoms makes me concerned about an STD, if you are at risk (new or unsafe partner, etc); or about a non-STD urinary tract infection. If you are under a doctor's care, check back with him or her. If not, i.e. treating yourself with Canestin, stop immediately and see a doctor. Your nearest NHS GUM clinic would be an excellent choice. ...Read more
