Has : Has your friend been to combat? If he does have ptsd, it can be an illness that causes serious damage to relationships. What you are describing is not an "antisocial attitude". Antisocial is someone who lacks a conscience. It sounds like your friend is having difficulty tolerating being around others and may be experiencing panic attacks. People with ptsd often self medicate with alcohol. My guess is that he is feeling very anxious and miserable. It is up to you if you want to maintain a friendship but i hope he is willing to get help. ...Read more

Ask the: provider who made the diagnosis which criteria were met. Is "pdoc" used as an abbreviation for psychiatrist or primary care physician? It would be best if the diagnosis was made by a psychiatrist or psychologist who has done a careful assessment using DSM criteria. ...Read more
