Does My First Time Having Sex Affect My Period
The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

I had sex 2 weeks ago on the day of my period. Now I am spotting does it mean I'm pregnant or could it be hormonal changes. Also that was my first time having sex and we used a condom but I know condoms can break
If you had sex while on your period, your chances of pregnancy are pretty low, especially if you used a condom. The spotting could be from your hymen being torn during sex. This spotting should resolve in 1-2 weeks. Also now is a great time to see your doctor to discuss all your birth control options, as well as condom use to protect against std's.
Take care. ...Read more
Hey, I'm just worried at the moment. I haven't had my period since the 16th of March - 22nd March. I first had sex for the first time on Easter Sunday?
Girlfriend and I had protected sex for first time 2 weeks ago, now she's 2 days late for her period. Should we be worried?
Maybe: If by "protected sex" you mean a condom only was used then yes, you should be concerned about an unintended pregnancy as condoms fail at a rate of 20% when used alone for contraception. If your girlfriend used a second contraceptive method, then it is likely that her period is simply "late" and delayed. ...Read more

Hi I have a question about my period, I had sex for the first time a couple of weeks ago, but we had protected sex but I still haven't gotten it yet.?
Condoms: Condoms are at best 80% effective, so check a pregnancy test. Also, a fair number of young women believe their partner is wearing a condom just because they said they put it on, when in fact they didn't. ...Read more

Why did I get my period 2 weeks early? I had protected sex for the first time on January first and I just got my second period since then but it is 2 weeks early. I'm worried
No need to worry: While a doctor would need a bit more info for a proper interpretation of your symptoms, suffice it to say that it is common to have some irregularity in menstrual cycle onset. It may be due to hormonal adjustments in the femal body, effect of illnesses/infections and or medication. If it happens next month, you should get checked with your primary doctor for proper evaluation. Feel better! ...Read more

I had sex June 14th for the first time, we used a condom. I'm suppose to start my period 06/29. What is the chances I'm pregnant?
Depends: Correct condom use begins with application before the penis is fully erect. Any of the secretions of an excited penis can contain enough sperm to begin a pregnancy, so application after some sexual contact to "stop the main load" is foolish. If used correctly, there is minimal chance of pregnancy. ...Read more
I started my second pack on the first day of period, does that mean im protected even if I had unprotectd sex couple of times that month?
Unrelated...: The time at which a woman begins her second pack of birth control pills (some time after finishing the first 3 weeks of the first pack) has no influence on whether or not she was protected against pregnancy during the 3 weeks that she was on her first pack of pills. In other words, what she does the second month cannot change (has no effect on) what already happened to her during her first month. ...Read more
Been bleeding for 3 days as heavy as my period after first time sex, its still not stopped. Still have a week till next period. Should I be worried?
Possibly: Not all bleeding from the vaginal is menstrual bleeding. This could be a tear in the vagina or if your hymen was partially intake, it could be bleeding from that. I know you probably don't want to get seen, but you probably need to so it can be evaluated. In addition, if you're not on birth control, its time to discuss that as well. I hope you at least used a condom. ...Read more

Yes, sometimes...: When a girl or woman starts having sex for the first time, it can delay her period for a whole year if she gets pregnant the first time she has sex. So, unless one is settled down and trying to start a family, she should be on one or two forms of birth control if having sex. ...Read more
