My urgent care doctor gave me 10 mg diazepam for muscle relaxant. I have serious insomnia and take zolpidem regularly. The diazepam.has not made me real sleepy. My sleep med is 12.5 can I go ahead and take it. It has been about 3 hours since I took diazep

I'm afraid not: Tizanidine is the least likely to cause drowsiness (50% of people taking it get sleepy). The trade-off is that it's less proven to help acute back pain than cyclobenzaprine which seems to make almost everyone drowsy. Baclofen is just as bad. Cough: Unfortunately most (prescribed by physicians) cough suppressants have sedative effects. The 'Dayquil and Nightquil' popular OTC brands have enough alcohol, a bad idea. Try some cardamom seeds (slowly suck for 3 - 10 minutes). Also make sure the person is not on medications hat can induce cough (ACE inhibitors).
