Does Mayonnaise Increase Triglycerides
I am facing with the problem of increased triglycerides to the level of 228 mg/dl and decreased level of HDL to the level of 31 mg/dl. Please suggest.?
Lipids: High triglycerides are related not only to the fat in your diet but also the simple sugars, so need to reduce both of these. Hdl is more difficult to increase, it is not due to diet, but can be improved with aerobic exercise. In women a low HDL is a significant risk factor for cardiac disease, so try to improve that. ...Read more

I have high triglyceride level. Pancreatitis has occured due to increase of triglyceride and diabetes has increased too.
Must be very high: For pancreatits to occur, I'll assume your level is above 600. This needs to be lowered aggressively, as acute pancreatitis can be a very serious issue. Consult your doctor for medications to lower your triglycerides. Diet and exercise will help, but might not be enough. ...Read more
I want to ask that what food we should use when we have a high triglycerides? Does eating fish increase triglycerides volume in body?
Exercise: Whether elevated fasting triglycerides are by themselves a risk factor, or simply your body's way of asking for more exercise, is still debated. Food choices will benefit you less than good overall self care especially at your age. Best wishes, and hit your favorite exercise activity hard. ...Read more

Yes: Elevated nonfasting triglycerides mean nothing. A nice cheese meal before your blood test will increase triglycerides. If I had elevated fasting triglycerides, i'd up my aerobic fitness program and stop worrying. As a pathologist / lab specialist, I've never had much use for 'treating lab values.' enjoy your cheese. ...Read more

Genes and diet: Many people inherit a predisposition to have high triglycerides if they become overweight. Sometimes triglycerides can be high in the absence of overweight but that's rare. Good news is that they are very sensitive to weight loss through diet and exercise. Low carb diets work best. Alcohol, Estrogens (contraceptive pill) and Accutane can increase triglycerides too. Hope this helps you out. ...Read more

My triglyceride levels have increased from 144.0-4/10/13 to 192.0-8/09/13 to 184.0-9/09/13. Same diet could stress be a factor?
Variation: Is somewhat normal with triglycerides. You might be eating the same overall diet, but what you ate in the 2-3 meals leading up to the test could vary the result, along with alcohol intake. If you average those three readings, you probably have a good idea of what your level is, and it is borderline high. Regular exercise, wt. Loss, more fish, less alcohol, and you'll lower it. ...Read more

Can you tell me how I could raise my total cholesterol without lowering my ldl-cholesterol or triglycerides?
Why?: We typically don't want to raise Total Cholesterol, or for that matter LDL (bad) cholesterol or triglycerides. However, we'd like to raise HDL (good) cholesterol but unfortunately, no drug thus far has been able to both raise HDL and prevent heart disease events. Experimental drugs have successfully raised HDL but w/o lowering heart disease. Only exercise appears to do both. ...Read more
I could really use an SSRI foranxiety/depression, but triglycerides are high and I've read many of these raise it more. Any SSRIs that don't raise this?
Having increased: Triglycerides does not necessarily mean that you can't use a SSRI's. It does mean that baseline lipids should be done and then repeated - to see effect of the SSRI. Here is an article which may be helpful- https://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. It is simple: The connection between drinking alcohol and high triglyceride levels? It’s all about calories! Alcohol is full of calories (it’s also full of sugar) and all extra calories turn into triglycerides. The triglycerides are then stored in your body as fat. This means that high alcohol consumption can increase your triglyceride levels. ...Read more

More exercise: It's time to take your exercise program to a much higher level. This'll make you feel great and very likely restore your health. After forty years in medicine, I join most physicians in thinking that "high triglycerides" in a ordinary person isn't something to treat with a pill, but a marker for genetics (which we can't change) and your body's asking for more exercise (a gift to yourself). ...Read more

Crestor (rosuvastatin): Crestor (rosuvastatin) is a medication that can raise your hdl. Since you are 18 with hypertension, that is already abnormal.
