This term usually refers to lower urinary tract symptoms assumed to be prostate enlargement though there is poor correlation of prostate size and symptoms. Reduction of risk factors with adequate bp, lipid, and cholesterol control may help slow progression. If the prostate issue is causing kidney blockage then that should be addressed as well.
